This meeting marked the launch of the project to redevelop the Students' Union Bar @Harcourt Hill.
A really successful meeting between the Lead Client, Dr. Brian Marshall; staff members from Harcourt Hill; the Project Manager, Harriet Harriss; and the Architectural Designers; US!
The group helped clarify a starting brief and understanding of a 'Student Learning Space' for the redevelopment to create a new social/ working environment allowing students to interact in a more relaxed setting.
Further discussion centred around the flexibility of space and potential use of the facilities and technology; large TV screens, web-conference facilities, projectors. Encouraging adaptability within the spaces is important, with the use of moveable partitions and flexible furniture where students can create appropriate spaces in which to work; either by themselves or in small groups.
